:: Dr. Peppino DeBiaso ::

    Dr. DeBiaso currently serves as the Director of the Office of Missile Defense Policy of the Department of Defense. He is responsible for managing a staff that formulates international security policies and defense plans for U.S. ballistic missile defense.  From 1996 to 2004, he was the Deputy Director of the Office of Strategy, Forces, and Operations in the Department of Defense, which focused on policies for nuclear forces and missile defense.  He has also served as a Department of Defense advisor to the defense and space arms negotiations with the former Soviet Union.  Prior to his government service, he was a member of the professional research staff at the ANSER Corporation, where he ran projects focusing on a wide range of strategic nuclear policy matters.  Dr. DeBiaso was a visiting fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution and has taught at California State University and the University of Southern California (USC).  He received M.A.’s from USC and Claremont Graduate School, and a Ph.D in International Relations from USC.
