Biography

Currently the Senior Vice President for the American Foreign Policy Council, Illan Berman focuses his areas of expertise in the Middle East security issues, Central Asian political dynamics, and Russian foreign and military policy. A regular columnist for Forbes, he publishes monthly “Present Dangers” pieces about the ongoing security and defense issues faced today. For DSS, he teaches on topics related to international law, regional security problems in the Middle East and Central Asia, and the introductory international affairs survey course for the program.
